Marine Turtle Regional Management Units 2.0 Publication
Global marine turtle experts re-evaluated the boundaries of Regional Management Units, or sub-populations for sea turtles using the most up-to-date biogeography data available. RMU shapefiles are available for download through the OBIS-SEAMAP/SWOT database.

All nesting data were sourced from Kot, C. Y., E. Fujioka, A. DiMatteo, et al. 2023. The State of the World’s Sea Turtles Online Database. Data provided by the SWOT Team and hosted on OBIS-SEAMAP. Oceanic Society, Conservation International, IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG), and Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab, Duke University http://seamap.env.duke.edu/swot. All key nesting sites are reported from the most recent available nesting season. Beach names and data providers are given in the printed report, and full citations can be downloaded here.
